●About housing
- How much does the room cost?
- In Okegawa City, a room of 20 to 30 square meters costs 40,000 to 50,000 yen per month. In addition, necessary fees such as the upfront payment or move-in fee must be added. You will cost approximately 4 to 5 times the room rent when move in. Some rooms can be shared by 2 to 3 people, and the rent and initial costs can be shared equally.
●About part-time jobs
- Can I work part-time while attending school?
- Yes, you can. However, the working hours for international students are limited to a maximum of 28 hours per week by law. If you violate this rule, your study visa will be canceled and you will be deported back to your country, so please limit your working time to less than 28 hours a week.
- What kind of part-time jobs are available?
- There are various options available. Many companies have business relationships with schools, so they can provide students with a safe and secure place to work. The type of job and wages vary from person to person.
●About further education
- What kind of guidance will the school provide for further studies?
- The most important thing in the entrance exam is Japanese language ability. In the courses, we will conduct mock tests such as JLPT and entrance exams to help students become familiar with the exam situation. In addition, we provide university information, hold admission information sessions, provide guidance on how to write applications, research plans, and essays etc.. If necessary, we will also accept individual interviews regarding daily life and studies in the office, and provide advice on each student's problems.
- Are the content of the classes difficult?
- In the course of 1 or 2 years, teachers will help students advance to the point where they can fully understand Japanese conversation. There's no need to worry. Everyone starts at the beginner level.
- Can I consult about my career path after graduation?
- Yes. We will do our best to accommodate your wishes, so please do not worry.
●About the Japanese Language Proficiency Test
- What is the Japanese Language Proficiency Test?
- It is a test to certify Japanese language proficiency by the Japan Foundation and the Japan International Educational Support Association, and is abbreviated as JLPT. There are 5 levels, with N1 being the highest level. N3 is the level at which you can say everything you want to say in everyday life. N2 is the level at which you can have a conversation with a Japanese person without any inconvenience. N1 is the level at which you can understand written language in a difficult style.
- Do I need to take the Japanese Language Proficiency Test in order to enter higher education?
- Graduate school requires N1 and university requires N2 or higher. However, since they take the same classes as Japanese students at university, N2 level students will have a hard time after entering the university. Some universities offer lower tuition fees if you have Japanese Language Proficiency Test N1, and N1 is essential if you want to get a good job in the future. Let's all aim to pass N1.
●About the EJU
- What is the EJU?
- It is an exam conducted by the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) and is abbreviated as EJU. We will evaluate your Japanese language ability and basic academic ability (general subjects, mathematics, science). Basically, all students wishing to enter university are required to take the entrance examination.
